THE HISTORY
In 2003 MotG organized the first ever World Freestyle Championships in the Amsterdam Arena and Mr. Woo (Korea) was the winner. In 2006 it was organized in the Pepsi Stage, Amsterdam and John Farnworth (United Kingdom) walked away with the crown. For this edition we will be in Abu Dhabi and we are really looking forward to it. We can also go on record to say that the two former champions (Mr. Woo and John Farnworth) have confirmed to be on the jury of the 2011 edition. Who will go on to become a Freestyle LEGEND?

RULES AND REGULATIONS v1.0
Two players with one ball, battling it out for three minutes. Immediate KNOCKOUT (if you lose you are out), winner goes to the next round. Each freestyler gets 30 seconds and then must pass the ball to his/her competitor. Your time starts when you have possession of the ball. Thus (3) ball possessions of 30 seconds each per battle for each freestyler. That means each freestyler has a total of 1 and 1/2 minutes to destroy the opponent. Below is an overview of the 3 rounds in each battle. Of course the choice is yours.
1st Round – Battle / (30 seconds each)
2nd Round -Technique & Difficulty / (30 seconds each)
3rd Round – Battle / (30 seconds each)
The jury will consist of 3 judges: 2 professional freestylers and 1 guest judge:
All freestylers will be judged on Ball Control, Creativity, Style and Difficulty of tricks
You are allowed LIMITED use of your hands: Only if its to start a trick or move or in the case of an emergency (to correct an error or prevent losing the ball). The judges reserve the right to deduct points for any use of the hands they deem unnecessary or in violation of the regulations. No external props or tools are allowed. Other than that – anything goes!
PERMISSION FOR PARTICIPATION
All participants once confirmed MUST completely fill out and return a Personal Injury Disclaimer / Video Release Form.
The organization reserves the right to refuse participation in this event at any time to any participant for any reason.
HOW CAN YOU QUALIFY
There will be a total of 16 freestylers in this competition. If we sense an overwhelming number of quality freestylers that qualify and want to participate and time/production permitting we reserve the rights to increase the total number of competitors.
We will pre-invite 2 professional freestylers.
12 freestylers will be chosen based on skill level, ranking from their peers, availability & a confirmed commitment.
The remaining 2 seeds will be filled on March 4th, 2011 via a qualification competition. We will choose 1 freestyler from the host nation and one from an international selection. More information will follow regarding the format of this special qualification competition.
There will be a few reserves in case confirmed competitor(s) cannot participate in the competition for some unexpected reason. Thus there are more then enough opportunities to win a spot.
DRAWING FOR BATTLES
Drawings for the battles will be held before each round. All competitors‚ names will be placed in a hat and drawn randomly. No one knows whom they will be battling until a minimum of 30 minutes before each battle round. All participants must be available and on site for their scheduled battle otherwise you WILL be disqualified.
DISPUTES & PROTESTS
We strive on ensuring an open and fair competition. Any protest or dispute must be conveyed to the Tournament Director who is responsible for enforcing these Rules and Regulations. Those protests and disputes will be arbitrated immediately by the Tournament Director and (Head) Judge. Their decision is final.
TRAVEL & HOSPITALITY
This is the first time this event is organized in the Middle East. Its a professional competition for prize money and all competitors are responsible for their “own” travel and hotel arrangements. We will assist the final 16 competitors wherever necessary in regards to arranging the necessary visa’s and helping out with the booking of hotel and local transportation. We are in the process of closing deals with partners to ensure all participants and guests will get the best possible rates. Part of that process is to find a transportation partner to offset some of these costs for the participants. Until and “if” that partner comes we have to make the best of the opportunity and hope that everyone understands. We are aware that traveling to Abu Dhabi might be a bit of an expense for many of you. We are making it clear that Samsung, Masters of the Game or any of its affiliates & partners are not responsible for paying any travel or hotel costs. We will do everything in our power to help with logistics and other support wherever necessary but this is a professional competition for the Title and a cash prize.
Finally we are deciding to publish the list of freestylers that have committed. A few are still making arrangements. We know there are more than 16 competitors on this list and we are happy about it. We stated from from the beginning that we reserve the right to increase the number of competitors above the originally stated 16 but that decision will be made on the 4th of March. We will see who “actually” makes it through all the struggles. For the freestylers below that actually make it to Abu Dhabi we will ensure they are part of this legendary competition. To be continued….

We would like to thank everyone from the Freestyle Community that has stopped by to vote for their favorite freestyler. As things develop we will update the info.
For the Record. Sean & Azun have guaranteed spots.
SEAN has Confirmed
AZUN is checking his schedule. (We hope he can make it)
The voting process is meant to give the FREESTYLE community a chance to vote for their peers love it or hate it. We wanted to give an opportunity for a larger selection of freestylers to have a chance to be seen. If someone runs a campaign and gets more votes that is their business. The final decision will be decided based on your skills and creditability. The public vote counts for only a portion of the selection process. We have an international team of professionals in the FREESTYLE business that will be making the final decisions with us.
